BIOGRAPHY
Erin Medina was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where she grew up passionate about soccer and played at high level, including the Canadian National team for many years. She received a full scholarship to play soccer at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where she graduated with a degree in Marketing and minor in advertising from the SMU Cox School of Business. Erin was a four year starter for SMU, All-American, Academic All-American, and all-conference selection on multiple occasions during her collegiate career. Upon graduation, Erin began her career as a Media Planner & Buyer at the Richards Group where she worked with the some of the agencies largest clients including Home Depot, Bridgestone Tire, and Fruit of the Loom. After a few years she received an offer to contribute on the coaching staff of the SMU Women’s Soccer team and jumped at the chance to give back to her alma mater, and pursue her passion in soccer. It was through her time with SMU women’s soccer that an opportunity presented itself to combine her marketing expertise with her passion, and she began her journey as a marketing director for Sting Soccer Organization as it came under new ownership in 2007. Erin and a few key individuals that came on board in 2007 for the Sting Soccer Organization were instrumental in helping the organization grow from 12 teams out of the Richardson area in 2007, to over 300 teams across eight different markets in 2022. As the Chief Operating Officer of soccer operations for many years, Erin focused her efforts on the behind the scenes operations of one the longest running, most successful, and nationally recognized youth soccer organizations in the country. In her new role as COO of Youth Development, Erin will focus on building a youth development program focused on the ages of 4U-12U with the focused objective to invest in the promising young talent that represents the future of Sting for many years to come.
